SAN ROCK ART
Summer in the Kruger Park is incredibly hot and, whilst looking for a bit of shade, Lazarus mentioned that he knew a cave that had some San rock art on the walls. This episode was totally unplanned and we discovered some very interesting facts about these cave paintings. For example, the San consisted of small nomadic groups and it is believed that many of the paintings were done to let subsequent groups know what animals were in the vicinity and where the closest water source was. This cooperation would have ensured their collective survival. Perhaps the earliest form of social media.
